Sara Vatore

In this episode of Multidimensional Transmissions, I sat down with Artist Chris Bordenca. In our conversation, he shares his unfolding journey, the trials of turning passion into profession, and how his personal evolution is etched into every piece he creates.

Chris and I shared a heartfelt discussion on the importance of creating for the sake of creation and how these moments help us to reclaim the pieces of our identities that we thought were lost to time.

Chris is a painter whose work focuses on a personal connection to objects and places from his youth in the 70’s and 80’s including paintings of action figures, toys, and video games from the era.

After a ten-year hiatus he returned to painting mid 2018. Since then Chris has shown his work around New England in various group shows, as well as a solo show in Amherst, MA. Several paintings have been given awards, including "Starless Sea With Keys", which won first place for acrylic painting at the Northeast Fine Arts Exposition. Numerous paintings are owned by collectors around the world.

Chris is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst who lives with his family in Ludlow, MA. A selection of his work is available to purchase along with prints at the Mill District Local Art Gallery in Amherst Mass until March.

Tune in to learn more about the creative process and what is possible when we turn towards our passions.

In today’s episode, we explore:

  • The threads that led Chris to his passion for art

  • How his life changed for the better when he stopped drinking and picked up his paintbrush again

  • What multidimensionality means to Chris

  • The synchronicities that happen in our lives

  • The power of doing things that make you happy instead of worrying what about others want

  • What to do if you are an artist feeling stuck during the creation process

I hope you enjoyed this conversation with Chris! If you’d like to see some of his work, you can visit his website bordenca.com. You can also follow him on Facebook and Instagram.
