melt away stress and overwhelm with the melt method

Living as mammals in this day and age, our bodies and systems are often functioning at a high level of stress. We are negotiating a great deal and we orient in our culture towards perfectionism, output and working hard as the expected norm. There is an energy of urgency and we fall into patterns of pushing and overriding our physical and emotional needs to “survive.”
When we live in this kind of activated environment, our body goes into this heightened protective response. We feel frustration, anger, stress, worry, fear and we stay STUCK in these states because they are so familiar!
It takes a lot of ENERGY for our body to stay that way. Our Sympathetic Nervous System works very hard to pump chemicals (adrenaline and cortisol) to get us to stay on alert and scan for danger.
We are not designed to stay in this heightened activated state.
When we do, our bodies can struggle coming out of this state. This shows up for us chronic anxiety or stress, frustration, sleep disturbances, poor performance, negative thinking and doubts, mental fog, digestion issues, pain and fatigue.
So what do we do to help our body regulate and heal?
MELT!
The MELT Method® is a unique self-treatment approach that works by rebalancing your Nervous System and rehydrating your connective tissue, by using specialized soft rollers and small MELT Hand and Foot Balls to simulate the results of manual therapy.
MELT helps the restore the REST mechanism of the nervous system (the parasympathetic response). Sue Hitzmann, the creator of MELT brilliantly refers to this as the REST REGULATOR.
When we MELT it helps this part of our nervous system and our connective tissue (fascia) come out of the heightened state of alert. We want to train that part of our system to work EFFICIENTLY. Efficiently means that I can get nervous and then come out of the stress, NOT stay STUCK there.
When we are stuck there our body and mind suffer and we have more FEAR and ANXIETY and feel exhausted or get sick. We want to sleep but we are not able to find rest. We want to meditate or slow down, but it feels challenging to be in quiet, silence or stop moving. We prepare and push through a big workshop or presentation, but then get sick.
Thank goodness the body is a brilliantly intelligent system.
