august energy: cultivating resilience

Tapping into the energy for the month, August’s energetic message and theme for us all is: 

CULTIVATING RESILIENCE

This beautiful card was created by Stacey Demarco and is a part of her Queen of the Moon Oracle Deck. My thoughts below are inspired by the card, the description in her deck booklet, and also the energy and channeled message from my initial reading at the beginning of the year that came through for August.

According to Google, the definition of RESILIENCE is the following:

“The capacity to withstand or recover quickly from difficulties.”

“The ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape.” 

“An ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change.” 

In order for us to be RESILIENT Beings and have RESILIENT Bodies, to recover quickly from difficulties and spring back into shape after an illness or injury or emotional challenge, we have to be listening deeply and taking exquisite care of our selves.

Resilience requires attunement to our self, body and needs.

This month is all about (re)committing to this attunement, in order to nurture our resilience.

Especially if you experienced July as more complex, intense, sticky, activating, or expansive this August is a call back to Self and to Body. A slowing down, listening to and honoring of what is being communicated, in order to restore.

I can’t expect my system to be resilient and operate at optimum capacity, if I am constantly overriding my needs (emotional, physical, mental, spiritual) and/or hyper-focusing only on output and “doing”.

This month is an opportunity to pause and take stock of where our energy output has been oriented. Honestly check in with yourself about your capacity limits. Just because we “can” do something, doesn’t mean we currently have the time/energy/space (capacity)!

For those of us who have been experiencing more expansion energy, August is also here to allow for any contraction energy to emerge.

There is always a contraction that follows any expansion. This is a part of how our system stays RESILIENT. Healthy cycles of expansion and contraction!

However, if we avoid contraction energy that is surfacing, and override the signals, we blow our systems out (get sick, hurt, feel exhausted, have a crash, less patience etc).  

There are things that we can do that are going to support cultivating RESILIENCE within our system to support these generative cycles of expansion and contraction.

To strengthen our capacity to be able to be in our lives in all the ways that we want to be and to show up in all the ways that we do; fully present and aligned.  

This requires SPACE. 

Space to listen.

Space to discern what is being communicated to us from within.

Space to tend to our needs on all layers of existence (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, energetic)

Space to be in the restoration, the recovery, the recalibration.

August is asking us to take stock.

How are we showing up in our lives?

What does my Body know that I am pretending not to know?

Are our values aligning with how we are Being in the world?

What is needed right now to cultivate RESILIENCE?

Check in with all layers of your Being…from your body, mind, energy, emotions to your spirit.

What can you do this month to cultivate RESILIENCE within your BODY?

Within your MIND? Within your EMOTIONS? Within your ENERGY? Within your SPIRIT?

This always comes back to creating space for me:

Spaces alone

Spaces with practitioners

Spaces for movement

Spaces for joy and play

Spaces for creativity and expression

Spaces for MELTing

Spaces for nature connection

Spaces for creating nourishing foods

Spaces for rest

Spaces for dreamwork

What is one small action you can take this month to nurture your RESILIENCE?

For me, I decided to take a summer pause with my podcast, as a way to create more space. I am taking 5 weeks off, until September 5th. I have also intentionally created a spacious month. We are taking a 3-day family weekend getaway this weekend and I also have a solo weekend booked later in the month! So excited to sync into this space.
