What’s something you know that you are pretending not to know?
What is actually true for you right now?
These questions have been front and center for me this week as I continue to navigate and heal from a pretty intense fall down some stairs on the 8th.
My body is asking for tenderness, compassion, slowness, and minimal sitting. This has required me to spend less time at my computer and complying has not felt easy.
I can fight my body’s truth all I want and pretend that I’m fine in order to work more, but that will only prolong the pain and discomfort within my system.
Our bodies are SO used to us overriding and ignoring what is actually being communicated. They hold onto pain and stuckness when we don’t listen.
What if we could invite in kindness and meet ourselves where we are actually at?
What kind of healing could be possible if we paid attention when signs pop up asking us to listen?
I’ve had to completely rethink how I’m working the last week and a half. Sitting for extended periods of time is painful. When I tried to push the edges of this, my body responded loudly. I’ve had to get creative, cancel some things/projects and release a lot of control.
My body wins. I need her at her full capacity and wellness in order to be showing up in my life how I want.
This week I’m committed to deeply listening to my body and then honoring what is being asked of me, even if that bumps up against what I want or wish were different.
